GODOX Lux Junior II S Retro Camera Flash (Lux Junior II S)

GODOX Lux Junior II S Retro Flash

The GODOX Lux Junior II S combines timeless retro styling with modern features that give you freedom while shooting. The swiveling body and adjustable head allow you to conveniently direct the light, while intelligent TTL metering makes it easy to achieve the correct exposure without having to manually adjust settings. The flash also offers advanced flash synchronization features, wireless control, and the ability to use color filters, encouraging you to experiment with light. The built-in rechargeable battery ensures convenience during longer sessions, and the compact, foldable design means you can always have the flash on hand. The Lux Junior II S model was designed with Sony cameras in mind, making it a perfect addition to the gear of both beginners and more experienced photographers.

Full control over the direction of light

Thanks to its dual-axis rotation design, the GODOX Lux Junior II S allows you to freely manipulate the light and achieve a variety of lighting effects. You can rotate the flash body 180°, allowing for comfortable shooting in both landscape and portrait orientations. Additionally, the head tilts at angles ranging from 0° to 90°, allowing you to direct the flash directly at the subject or bounce it off the ceiling and other surfaces. Bounced light helps create softer, diffused lighting and gentler shadows, which is especially useful when taking portraits or shooting indoors. This high level of flexibility allows you to tailor the lighting to a specific scene without having to change your camera settings.

Smart Flash Without Complicated Settings

Shooting with a flash doesn’t have to mean spending time adjusting settings. The GODOX Lux Junior II S supports TTL smart metering, which automatically adjusts the flash output to the lighting conditions, helping you achieve proper exposure. This is especially convenient during dynamic shoots, street photography, or when capturing spontaneous moments when there’s little time to take a photo. Beginner photographers can focus on composition and capturing the right moment, while more experienced users will appreciate the speed and greater convenience of use. The Lux Junior II S model is designed to work with Sony cameras, making it a perfect fit for photographers using this system.

Advanced Synchronization for Creative Photographers

The GODOX Lux Junior II S offers features that allow you to go beyond standard flash photography. HSS synchronization with shutter speeds up to 1/8000 s enables shooting with fast shutter speeds, which is useful, for example, when taking portraits in bright environments. It also supports first- and second-curtain sync, allowing you to achieve different effects when photographing motion, as well as a Multi mode that lets you capture successive phases of motion using a series of flashes. A particular advantage of the S version is its support for global shutter synchronization. When paired with a compatible Sony camera equipped with a global shutter, the flash enables synchronization at speeds of up to 1/80,000 s, opening up additional possibilities when photographing fast-moving subjects.

Compatibility with Film Cameras

Modern features don’t mean you have to give up traditional photography. The flash retains the classic AUTO mode, which also makes it easy to use with film cameras. Thanks to its 2.5 mm sync port, it works with cameras equipped with a PC sync terminal when using the appropriate cable. Simply match the ISO and aperture settings on the camera and the flash, and the automatic flash system will ensure proper lighting for the scene you’re photographing. This solution works great for indoor photography, evening walks, or shooting after dark. It allows you to maintain the distinctive style of working with classic photographic equipment while enjoying the convenience of automatic light adjustment.

Wireless Freedom and Creative Color Effects

The Lux Junior II S functions both as an on-camera flash and as a component of a more extensive lighting setup. The built-in 2.4 GHz radio receiver enables remote flash triggering when paired with a compatible transmitter. This allows you to position the flash away from the camera, experiment with the direction of the light, and create setups using multiple light sources. Compatibility with the MA02 magnetic color filters provides additional possibilities. Installing and replacing them is quick and convenient, allowing you to efficiently change the character of the scene you’re photographing. Warm and cool tones, as well as more vivid color effects, help set the mood of a photo, highlight selected elements of the frame, and give your photos a unique character.

Ready to go for every shoot

The built-in lithium-ion battery eliminates the need for replaceable batteries and allows for convenient charging of the flash. A guide number of approximately 18 provides ample lighting for scenes, and the battery life is sufficient for about 400 full-power flashes. The flash recharge time is just 1.5 seconds, allowing you to efficiently take consecutive photos without long pauses.

The perfect travel companion

Another major advantage is its design, which is optimized for frequent transport. When folded, the flash takes on a flat shape, so it takes up very little space in a camera bag, backpack, or even a pocket. Its light weight further enhances comfort while traveling, walking with a camera, or shooting on the street. The GODOX Lux Junior II S is a practical choice for those who want a versatile light source at their fingertips without sacrificing mobility or the unique retro aesthetic of the equipment.
