TERRAMASTER D4-320U DAS Drive Enclosure, 4 drives (D4-320U)

TERRAMASTER D4-320U 4-Bay DAS Enclosure

The TerraMaster D4-320U is a high-performance DAS enclosure equipped with 4 bays for SATA HDDs and SSDs, designed to expand storage capacity for servers, workstations, and NAS devices. Thanks to its USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C interface with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb/s, the device provides fast data access and transfer speeds of up to 1016 MB/s. The enclosure supports up to 96 TB of storage capacity, is compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, Proxmox, TrueNAS, and Unraid, and its compact design—just 241 mm deep—allows for convenient installation even in small server racks.

More storage space without replacing your infrastructure

The D4-320U makes it easy to increase available storage space without having to replace existing servers or arrays. The four bays support 3.5-inch SATA HDDs, 2.5-inch HDDs, and 2.5-inch SSDs, allowing users to choose storage media that best suit their needs. With a maximum capacity of 96 TB, the device is ideal for data archiving, storing backups, and working with large file sets. This solution is designed for businesses and users who need scalable storage in a compact form factor.

Data transfer speeds up to 10 Gb/s

The enclosure uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C interface, which provides a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb/s. In tests with four drives, actual read and write speeds reached up to 1016 MB/s, allowing you to efficiently copy large amounts of data and handle demanding tasks. When using a single SSD, transfer speeds can reach 560 MB/s, ensuring fast handling of documents, multimedia, and backups. High performance translates to shorter completion times for everyday operations and greater convenience.

Wide Compatibility and Support for Multiple Systems

The enclosure is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux, as well as popular server and virtualization platforms such as Proxmox, TrueNAS, and Unraid. The Plug & Play feature eliminates the need to install drivers, so the device is ready to use immediately after connection. The package includes USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to USB-C cables, which facilitate integration with various computers and servers. Additionally, compatibility with USB 3.0, USB 3.1, USB 3.2, Thunderbolt 3, and Thunderbolt 4 ports ensures great flexibility when expanding your infrastructure.

Storage Expansion for TerraMaster NAS Servers

The D4-320U has been optimized to work with TerraMaster NAS servers running TOS 5.1 or later. Once the device is connected via USB, you can create additional storage pools and expand the available data storage space. This solution allows you to scale your data storage environment as your business grows without having to invest in additional servers. It’s a convenient way to increase the capacity of your existing NAS system.

Stable and Quiet Operation Over the Long Term

Three fans equipped with an intelligent temperature control system ensure effective cooling. Automatic speed adjustment helps maintain optimal operating conditions for the drives even under heavy load. With a noise level of approximately 26.7 dB(A), the device is suitable for use in an office environment. The drive sleep function further helps reduce energy consumption during periods of inactivity.
