TERRAMASTER U8-500 Plus NAS File Server with Intel Core i7-1255U, 16 GB RAM, 8 bays

The TerraMaster U8-500 Plus is an advanced NAS file server equipped with a 10-core Intel Core i7-1255U processor, 16 GB of DDR5 memory (expandable up to 64 GB), and 8 drive bays for HDDs and SSDs. The device offers two 10GbE ports, two M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 slots, hardware-based data encryption, and extensive support for RAID configurations. The maximum internal capacity is 176 TB (8 × 22 TB) according to the manufacturer’s official specifications, and thanks to its extensive backup features and the Business Backup Suite, the server is well-suited to serve as a central data storage and protection hub for small and medium-sized businesses.

High performance for demanding business environments

The Intel Core i7-1255U processor, featuring 10 cores and a Turbo Boost clock speed of up to 4.7 GHz, ensures smooth operation. Combined with DDR5 memory, it efficiently handles multiple users, network services, and backup processes. The server comes standard with 16 GB of RAM, but two SODIMM slots allow you to expand its capacity up to 64 GB. This solution makes it easy to scale performance to meet the growing needs of your business without having to replace your entire infrastructure.

Ample storage space and room for future expansion

Eight bays for 3.5" and 2.5" drives allow you to create a central repository for documents, projects, databases, and backups. The official maximum internal capacity is 176 TB when using eight 22 TB drives. Additionally, the server is equipped with two M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 slots, which can serve as high-speed SSD cache or additional storage space. Hot-swap support allows drives to be replaced without powering down the device, which minimizes downtime and simplifies storage management.

High-Speed Data Transfer on the Corporate Network

The U8-500 Plus model is equipped with two 10GbE ports, which provide very high bandwidth when working with large files and backups. Support for link aggregation allows you to increase network performance and efficiently serve a larger number of users simultaneously. The manufacturer claims transfer speeds of up to 2090 MB/s, ensuring that data access remains fast even during intensive resource usage. The device also features an HDMI port, three USB-A 3.1 ports, and a USB-C 3.1 port with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb/s.

A Comprehensive Backup Solution

The TerraMaster U8-500 Plus is designed as an integrated backup server for small and medium-sized businesses. The Business Backup Suite includes Centralized Backup, Duple Backup, TerraSync, CloudSync, and Snapshot, enabling the creation of a multi-layered data protection strategy. The administrator can centrally back up employee computers, physical servers, and virtual machines, as well as synchronize data across locations. This gives the company greater resilience against hardware failures, user errors, and ransomware threats.

Advanced Security and Convenient Management

The device offers a comprehensive set of features for securing data and resource access. Support for AES encryption, OTP authentication, SSL certificates, Active Directory, and LDAP makes it easy to implement a security policy that meets enterprise requirements. The Snapshot and HyperLock File System features further enhance protection against unauthorized changes and data loss. The intuitive TOS interface allows for convenient management of users, permissions, and resources directly from a web browser.
